There have been many rumours about the iPhone 5s being released early in 2013. We thought we would give some clarity to the situation.
Apple is very specific about when it releases products, they don't just update a product and release it. They choose the time of the year very carefully. You will notice this by paying attention to iPod launches. Every year in September Apple releases new iPod's. The same goes with the iPhone. Take a look at when all previous version of the iPhone have gone on sale:
Original: June 29, 2007
iPhone 3G: July 11, 2008
iPhone 3GS: June 19, 2009
iPhone 4: June 24, 2010
iPhone 4S: October 14, 2011
iPhone 5: September 21, 2012
Apple traditionally previews the next version of iOS at WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference.) The new iOS will come standard with the next iPhone, in this case the iPhone 5s. Apple has to release the software to developers to test it and get their apps ready for the new iOS. This means that the iPhone 5s will not be released until iOS 7 is ready.
iOS 7 is only expected to be announced at WWDC in 2013 which will happen some time in June or July.
The rumours of the iPhone 5s must also be considered carefully. The source of information at this stage is not confirmed as a trustworthy sources and the picture(above) could have been an early iPhone 5 prototype.
Rumours that start this far away from the actual product release tend to be less accurate and more speculation. Don't start panicking because you heard a rumour.
As soon as we start hearing information that is accurate we will keep you posted.
